Big Talk: So who gets served dinner first in your house?… Samuel Clemens once described a night that was “darker than the inside of a cow.” You have to think pretty hard to come up with a better descriptive phrase than that. But that was the genius of the man known as Mark Twain. Kelsey goes back in time to interview the author of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn… Deep Blue sat on one side of the table, a Russian chess-master sat on the other. What made this chess match so interesting was that Deep Blue was only 6 and it was a computer… Tucker Jones is hired to investigate the carnival basketball hoop… So you like adventures? How about mushing 16 dogs over 1100 miles of frozen terrain. In this episode’s Big Idea, Jessica and the King of Complicated Stuff try to figure out what drives men and women to tackle the ultimate race known as the Iditarod… BookBeat: We interview author Shelly Gill, who was one of the first women to compete in the Iditarod.
